Hydrogen Safe, the specialist training organisation educating people to work safely with hydrogen to access careers in the green sector, has announced a strategic partnership with Hopwood Hall College and University Centre in Manchester.
The partnership will see training instructors from Hydrogen Safe deliver the UK’s first Ofqual registered qualifications in hydrogen to students and apprentices that access vocational courses through the college.
As industries are targeted with finding new and more sustainable ways of delivering products and services, the partnership will tackle the inevitable skills gap and equip students with the understanding and knowledge they need to access opportunities in the green energy sector.
Founder of Hydrogen Safe, Andy Lord, comments:
“This partnership is a huge step forward for us. Not only does it mean that we can deliver our qualifications and educate the talent of the future, but that we do it in a world-class environment.
“The facilities at Hopwood Hall College and University Centre are exactly what we need and as we introduce new technologies to our training, we know that those accessing the courses will have an immersive and exciting experience while they learn.
“We hope that through our collective achievements we can showcase the benefits that the Hydrogen Safe qualifications offer to students, giving other colleges and training institutes the encouragement to do the same.”
Principal and CEO of Hopwood Hall College and University Centre, Julia Heap, comments:
“This pioneering partnership represents important progress in our efforts to ensure that our students are well equipped to deliver the critical skills that the global green energy sector requires.
“Providing the right training in our exceptional facilities within our Advanced Technology Centre means that we are perfectly positioned to deliver the highly skilled workforce of the future. We look forward to working in partnership with the team at Hydrogen Safe.”
