SUMMARY:Tube Fitting Installation and Hydrogen Competency Course
DESCRIPTION:This course is delivered in partnership with: \n \nCourse overview:\nThis course has been produced exclusively by Northern Valve and Fitting Company and Hydrogen Safe. This course allows for increased hands-on knowledge of tube fitting\, while also increasing safety awareness of hydrogen gas applied in related systems. This course is split into two sections – a 1 day online theory-based hydrogen competency course to increase safety awareness and a 1 day practical-based NVFCL tube fitting course in various settings. \nCourse content:\nSection 1 – Level 1 Hydrogen Safety Competency (day 1) – Remote In-Person \n\nHydrogen fundamentals\, including the properties\, storage and transportation of hydrogen\nCurrent policies and uses of hydrogen\nRisk assessments and considerations for hydrogen systems\nHydrogen related hazards\, including similarities and differences with other gases\nHazard risk reduction strategies\n\n Section 2 – NVFCL Tube Fitting (day 2) – In-Person on site \n\nTubing with a focus safe selection related to gas and liquid applications\nTube fitting history\nInstallation and reassembly procedures\nUnderstanding leakage\nThread identification and sealing techniques\nSelecting fittings that reduce leakage\nTube bending\, theory and practical\nTheoretical and practical examination to measure understanding\nCourse evaluation\n\nWho should attend:\nThis course is designed to benefit anyone interested in gas systems\, who may be involved with the use of hydrogen now or in the future during efforts to decarbonise. This could include installation technicians\, pipe fitters\, project engineers & managers\, system designers and procurement specialists. \nAssessments:\nEach delegate must successfully complete: \n\nA multiple choice examination for section 1 hydrogen competency – this is to verify understanding of the properties and hazard risk reduction strategies applied for hydrogen gas systems. A level 1 hydrogen safety qualification will be gained alongside a Bronze Hydrogen Safe Verification Register e-card (valid for 2 years).\nA theoretical examination and practical test for section 2 – this is to confirm understanding of the course\, and show successful application of taught skills. Delegates will assemble components which will be burst tested to verify safe installation procedures have been applied. A NVFCL certificate will be gained on successful completion (valid for 3 years).\n\nQualifications:\n\nNVFCL Certificate\nLevel 1 Hydrogen Safety Practises Award\n\nCourse Pricing (per cohort up to 10):\n\nDay 1: £2\,500 + awarding body costs (dependent on number of delegates)\nDay 2: £3\,700\n\nTotal Course Cost: £6\,200 + awarding body costs (excl.
